Like most people interested in martial arts I have studied several different disciplines, from Judo and Karate as a child. Then Tae Kwon Do in my teenage years until I discovered the Bujinkan Budo (武神館 武道) in 1990.
My Bujinkan Budo journey began back in my home town at a mere 16 years of age, under the tutelage initially of Ian Britton, then Chris Pearce, until work took me to Reading in 2001 where I continued my training under Jim Jones at Bujinkan Reading Dojo. I achieved my Godan (五段 - 5th Dan) in 2015 from Peter King Dai-shihan (大師範) Ku-gyo Menkyo / Ju-godan (十五段) of the Bujinkan dojo, as awarded by Hatsumi Soke. In 2016 myself and Hadrian took over tutelage of the club and have been teaching there since.
